Happy weekend to one and all.
Today I have something really unusual newly listed in my shop Old Raven on Etsy.
This is an accounting ledger by The Greenwood Company out of Chicago. This book is a very large hardbound with brass screws to allow the covers to be removed and new or used pages added or removed. If you look close you can see the “Greenwood Standard Bookkeeping Forms” embossed in the front cover.
The book begins with the manila cover page for RECORD OF DAILY SALES. Each section has its own cover page for easy separation and location.
Behind each cover page is a pink “Specimen Page” to show you how you should be making your entries. (I circled the specimen page on the photo only, of course, so people would realize this is just an example page and that the ledger is unused.)
Behind the Specimen Page is the blank/unused pages ready to go to work. There’s all the requisite sections for keeping accounts, plus, at the back of the book samples of additional forms that are available for order to perform more specialized bookkeeping records.
I love finding these old ledger books and they always do very well in my shop but this is the first time I’ve ever found one of these in NOS condition – what a rare treasure.

We’ve been having lots of rain, a bit of snow, back to rain, wind and temperatures just above freezing – ugh. Just a few more degrees lower and we could be in a Winter Wonderland which I would much prefer. What’s it doing in your neck of the woods?
Have a nice weekend and thanks for joining me here. – Kriss
