Happy Saturday to All. Whew, that was a busy week wasn’t it?
Take a peek at today’s new shop listing – A Pair of Ardalt Candle Holders. These clever little porcelain floral baskets appear to be just, and only, that – baskets of flowers.
But SURPRISE, the center rose in each bouquet lifts out to reveal the well for seating a full sized candle or taper. I love that these are two items of decor in one.
Each piece looks like a woven basket made of fine porcelain and filled with delicate roses, carnations and peonies in white, pastel pink and pastel yellow.
And the details on these pieces are quite perfect and in excellent condition with no chips or issues of any kind. That in itself is amazing considering these were made somewhere in the mid century and with their truly delicate aspect – how rare.
These are genuine Ardalt pieces. Both bases have the model number mark (#6237) and one still has the foil signature stamp.
Finding Vintage treasures like these just makes a tingle go up my spine. I can’t wait to get them home, clean them up and track down their history. And the best part? Sharing them with you.

And for those of you who follow this site for the crafting fun – I’m off to start that project I mentioned a few days back – the Tart Tin Christmas Tree “how to” – coming right up.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for dropping by. – Kriss
